Standings Update: September 6, 2011

Save for a lone Group 5 game in CONCACAF, qualifying is over for the month of September so it's time to update the standings. Listed below are the group standings for Asia and North America as they currently stand following games on September 6th. Group recaps for September start tomorrow with Asia Group 1. For logistical reasons, N.America Group 5 will go last and be released after the 18th so that I can cover the Grenada/St.Vincent game occurring that day.

ASIA-ROUND 3 (20 of 60 games completed-top 2 teams in each group will advance)

Group 1



China holds the tiebreaker for 2nd place as they have more goals for then Iraq.

Group 2



South Korea holds the tiebreaker over Kuwait as they have a better goal differential.

Group 3



Japan holds the tiebreaker over Uzbekistan as they have more away goals in matches played between the two.

Group 4



Saudi Arabia holds the tiebreaker over Oman as they have a better goal differential.

Group 5



Iran holds the tiebreaker over Bahrain as they have a better goal differential.

NORTH AMERICA-ROUND 2 (21 of 66 games completed-top team in each group will advance)

Group 1



Group 2



Guyana holds the tiebreaker over Trinidad because they have more goals for. Bermuda holds the tiebreaker over Barbados because they have a better goal differential.

Group 3



Nicaragua holds the tiebreaker over Panama because they have more goals for.

Group 4



Group 5



Grenada holds the tiebreaker over St. Vincent as they have a better goal differential.

Group 6



Antigua/Barbuda and Curacao hold their respective tiebreakers because they have a better goal differential.
