At some point in qualifying, Qatar was going to have to win some games in order to advance. After a pair of draws in September, Qatar travels to Indonesia this month and 3 points looks to be the likely outcome against the worst team in the group. Group leaders Iran and Bahrain will face off in Tehran in what will certainly be a closer game then Qatar-Indonesia. As is the case with most Iran games, the outcome will likely depend on which Iranian team shows up to play. When they're at their best, without question they should advance from this group. But if they sleep on Bahrain they'll be made to pay for it. Iran is playing at home which is a sizeable advantage for them. Rarely do they ever lose a game on home soil.

If Iran-Bahrain were being held in Bahrain, I think we'd be looking at a 3-way tie with 5 points. Game is in Iran though so I'm giving the edge and an outright group lead to Iran.
